Sharon Prager, President and Principal Consultant of eConcepts Consulting, has over 20 years experience in communications, public relations, public affairs, education, and community relations.
After completing her undergraduate work in political science at Colorado Women's College, Ms. Prager entered the international transportation and export industries in Denver. Ms. Prager was a frequent speaker at Department of Commerce seminars, and ultimately was hired to work in Australia for three years. After returning to the US, Ms. Prager was employed by BHP (now BHP Billiton), the world's largest diversified resources company, and held positions in marketing communications and as a public affairs advisor.
During her 12 years at BHP, Ms. Prager completed her Certificate in Marketing Communications at San Jose State University, and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Stanford University focusing on social and public policy. Her thesis examined Canadian mining, and an ensuing article received international attention. In the late 1990s she was the co-author of the first Mining Investment Study published by Vancouver's Fraser Institute, whose subsequent studies continue today.
In 2000, after BHP's closure in San Francisco, Ms. Prager founded eConcepts Consulting. She has worked with wide ranging businesses and non-profits, and is known for her dedication to clients, and for achieving objectives. Her outlook is that long-term results are best obtained by building positive relationships between organizations and communities.
Ms. Prager's community leadership includes past service on several boards of directors, and service as a San Mateo County Cultural Arts Commissioner. Currently she is a member of the Burlingame Business Group and President of the Board for Phase2Careers, a local non-profit.
"Sharon Prager has served on the Board of Directors of Phase2Careers, a non-profit organization, since our inception in August of 2009. She also serves as the President of our Board and has been a tireless advocate and vocal spokesperson for our mission.
From the start, she has impressed me with her ability to grasp issues quickly, think of solutions, and prepare an appropriate plan of action. Sharon adds a real spark to our team, getting us to think about things both creatively and strategically. Sharon's background in marketing, public relations, plus her analytical skills and knowledge of the nonprofit and government sectors, is a definite asset to our group."
